There is a show on KCUR named KC Currents, it airs 5pm on Sundays and then again Monday nights at 8pm. I’ve heard a few of the shows by chance and have always wanted to just sit back and listen purposely. It seems to be one of the few times minorities and the lower class have a voice on the station. This episode was really good, I missed most of the first story though. The show spoke with Dr. Jasper Fullard who founded the Black Health Care Coalition is retiring from the medical field. There was a piece on KC having a poverty simulation which really was a highlight to me. I will be talking about that more by the end of the week too. Then there was a really interesting piece about the African influence in Mexico, few people know that slaves were brought to Mexico to be sold.
