30 Year Anniversary For Paid In Full

6tag_070717-165754

30 years ago today the album that truly changed the game in so many ways was released. To think during the recording process a rapper was laughing at The God as he track was being played back. The fact this almost didn’t happen if Eric B would have caught up with Bumpy Knuckles.

MCs had to really step their game up after this dropped. The great iconic James Brown career was resurrected with this album. The bars and vibe are the blueprint for every single MC that came after this, even EPMD was criticized for biting. The vibe was smooth operator/ deadly assassin. The lines from this album aren’t only still ahead of it’s time but have been used by most of the greatest MCs in the game at some point in their catalog.

Word is the duo have gotten back together. If all they do is just shows the culture will good for it. This was the Albert m that made me want to spit. The delivery was unheard of for that time. Everyone saying they’re are about this culture should know this album.

Black Ceezar: Black Friday 2016

black-friday2016-copy

Given the fact that sooo much has happened this year, I felt like I had to be a bit more light with this year’s Black Friday mix. From the passing of people that shocked the globe like Prince, David Bowie and Phife Dawg and the many more celebrities and those in out personal lives. The police murdering unarmed men and women to those individuals who murdered police l. Then there’s the fact Trump who is our President elect. Music is my constant and I know it’s not just me. This is another good mix, enjoy.

The Premium Pete Show Feat. Miss Lissa Knows:Episode 1: New Beginnings

maxresdefault1

I’ve been late to this party kinda, I saw the teaser and this episode when it dropped because I follow Premium Pete on Instagram and Periscope, dude is an ill cook, which is what I thought he’d do with Periscope… Oh well. I’ve only gotten up to the Dallas Penn episode and I missed the Snitches one because I’m not really feeling Tax like that but here is a great first episode.. One smother note I really have no idea what happened with Pete and Combat Jack and whatever episode he shitted on Pete it must’ve been with a guest I wasn’t too into to attempt to checkout.

In this inaugural episode, Premium Pete introduces his new co-host Miss Lissa Knows, opens up about leaving the Combat Jack Show and lets the “internets” in on what’s to come. Miss Lissa dishes on why Love & Hip Hop starlet, Cardi B is underestimated and how Cardi is actually way smarter than people realize. The duo drops gems about platonic friendships and if you should remain friends with an ex. Plus, Phone-A-Friend feature, Just Blaze shares his thoughts on the passing of late/great Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest and explains the importance of health care. He also reveals he prefers boxers over briefs.

Press play.

This week’s Documentaries To Check Out

Iverson

header

Of course I’m going to say watch this one. I’m from Newport “Bad Newz Va and just knowing someone from where I’m from, who lived in the same part of town as me made me a fan, even back when he was playing in Georgetown. If Jordan influenced how players played and changed the way endorsements were handled then Iverson changed the look and vibe as well as forced The NBA to make rules to keep things marketable to those fans not from the hood, like how I said that without saying that. Great Documentary about a Hall Of Fame player who deserves so much more respect from The NBA.
The Death of “Superman Lives”: What Happened?

maxresdefault

This is a documentary about all the confusing that went into the making of Superman Lives. The move would have had followed the death of Superman comics and starred Nicholas Cage and directed by Tim Burton. The documentary is great and just watching it makes me want to see actual footage of the film. I don’t think Superman Lives would have been as well received as the Batman movie Burtaon did which brought The Caped Crusader back.
The Other Dream Team

dreamteam_02

This documentary is about the epic story of the Lithuania team that played in 1992 ‘s Olympics. The story dates back to stunning defeat of The USA team in 88‘ by Russia which had Lithuania players on it. The story goes even beyond basketball as the movie starts out more political and that fight for Lithuania’s independence rides side by side with rise of Lithuania’s players becoming globally recognized so much so that two players from the team were drafted in the NBA.

Bengals Should Forget Monday Night Happened

The fact that the Cincinnati Bengals lost Monday night isn’t what is shocking, it’s better to lose now then in the playoffs or fall into a slump right?  One would love to say the Texans stepped up for a Monday night game, you also can say the Bengals did too, and that may have been the team’s downfall. There were way too many long passes dropped when all Dalton had to do was nickel and dime the defense. All the great teams do it,  matter of fact they do it more than you know. Tom Brady did in the last minute of the game Sunday against the Giants in those last seconds to win the game. Now I’m not saying that would have gained a victory but it could have helped. I’m not giving into the primetime meltdown theory that for some reason The Bengals can’t shake, if anything they tried to put on a show and it backfired. The Bengals are the number one team in their division and as long they put the Monday night behind them they should be fine. They’re healthy, or healthier than a lot of other teams and they still can secure a by week in the first round since The Broncos have become an almost below average team in a matter of weeks. I predict The Bengals will get back to what we expect of them Sunday night.   Two out of three primetime games could be great for a team accused of falling apart in those kinds o
